There is so much beauty in something that was shaped by nature over the course of million years.
A result of this long process of creation are the most astonishing colors, patterns & textures inside rocks.

In order to discover this, it is often necessary to work on the stones.
Some stones appear in nature in forms that don’t require anything to bring out its charm.
For example pyrite crystals are shaped as perfect cubes. As a jewelry designer it’s just about making it wearable.
Other stones, like ammonites, reveal their artistry by simply being cut open. The different ‘chambers’ of the shell are on display, manifesting the golden ratio.
And seemingly dull stones expose spectacular patterns when you slice them up and allow the light to fall through. Mossagate & rutilated quartz definitely belong to this group.
I believe more processes on stones could bring out nature’s beauty even more.

So I will happily take you with me on my journey of discovering & emphasizing earth’s magnificence!

PERI

PERI is a unique handmade jewelery collection that unites the work of two Leuven artists with a love for color and the process in creation. 

NICKY MYNY MEETS LORE SEGERS
Two artists from Leuven meet in Paris. An inspiring rendez-vous that leads to a unique capsule collection by NM x LSJ. Nicky Myny, fashion designer and visual artist, paints from her intuition and believes in the healing power of color and creativity. Jewelry designer and architect Lore Segers has a predilection for pure lines and the imperfections of raw metals. Nicky and Lore both run their own art studio on the Leuvense Vaart and are now presenting PERI for the first time, a limited edition jewelry collection. 

PAINTING MEETS JEWELRY DESIGN
For the PERI collection, colorful fragments of Nicky's paintings were combined with oxidized blue brass, Lore's trademark. The shape of each jewel is characterized by highly architectural lines. These lines symbolize the Périphérique of Paris and the Leuvense Vaart, the framework of their meeting. The oxidized materials of Lore and the detailed prints of Nicky's process artwork provide deeper layers and an interesting field of tension. Each jewel from the PERI collection is a unique piece with a timeless character that fits perfectly into today's dynamic world. 

FAST FORWARD

FAST FORWARD is an ‘Ode to imperfection’, celebrating uniqueness as all pieces are handmade and undergo an unrepeatable gesture, making them as unique as their owners.
The jewels are inspired by the natural process of oxidation, which is seen as a deficiency of the metals.
Though we believe imperfections are what make people or things unique and we want to highlight this feature.
Therefor the minor imperfections in texture & slight irregularities in color, found in copper, brass & silver, are integrated as an element of the design.
The natural process of oxidation that would take years/decades in natural circumstances, is manipulated to achieve these beautiful colors and textures within hours/days.
Hence the name of the collection, Fast Forward.
