Frequently Asked Questions

MATERIALS
+ Many of our designs contain an oxidised metal. The oxidised parts are coated to end further oxidation and maintain the colors.
+ The polished parts are coated to slow down the tarnishing process.
+ All chains are goldplated; yellow gold for pieces in brass and rose gold for pieces in copper.
+ All earpins are made in silver.
+ All rings and bracelets (except Z03) are goldplated to avoid irritation to the skin.
+ Due to the design bracelet Z03 is not partly goldplated. Instead it is coated to avoid irritation.
+ Rings and bracelets are plated with a thick layer of 5 micron gold; all other plated designs are covered with 3 micron (chains, hoops,…)

MAINTENANCE
+ CARE
Fast Forward are jewels made out of copper, brass or silver. None of these metals is corrosion resistant. This has been the inspiration for the collection. The process of the manipulated element of the necklace happens under certain circumstances in nature as well. The only difference is that it will take decades. Though even over weeks/months the polished element of your necklace will show slight changes in color & glossiness.

If you want your jewel to stay shiny, make sure you clean it whenever you notice that it’s getting tarnished. This can be done by gently wiping the metal with a jewelry polishing cloth. You could also use a regular soft cloth and carefully wipe copper cleaning paste onto the metal part of the jewel. Do this regularly so the tarnishing comes off easily.

In general it’s recommended to keep your jewelry away from water, sunlight, chemicals (as found in soaps, cleaning products, swimming pools, makeup, hairproducts & perfume), heat & cold.
Therefor it is best to take off your jewelry when bathing, swimming, exercising or doing dishes.
If you do keep them on, consider cleaning them properly immediately afterwards.
Concerning perfume, makeup and hair products, it is best to put on your jewelry after you are fully dressed and have finished your hair and makeup.

Additionally we advise you to take off your jewelry when sleeping to avoid scratches or deformations.

+ STORAGE
Because silver, brass & copper oxidise naturally with air, light and humidity, it is best to store your jewelry in a closed bag or a box when not worn.
Most of our designs come in a suitable jewelry box which you can use to protect your jewelry from this oxidation.
We recommend to store your pieces into different boxes or bags to avoid them from scratching against each other or getting tangled up.
Keep the box(es) in a dry & dark space, so ideally not near heating, ventilation or in the bathroom.
Before you store them away, make sure your jewelry is clean and dry by removing excess oils & moisture from the pieces.

OXIDATION
Due to the oxidation all pieces are 100% unique, therefor your jewel might differ slightly from the picture.

RINGSIZE
To find out your ringsize you could use a string and wrap it around the base of your finger. Then mark the point on the string where the ends meet and measure the length of the string (in mm!). This length, e.g. 54mm, is the inner diameter which is also your ringsize (French system). You can find this as an option when you would like to place an order.
If you have questions about this however, don’t hesitate to contact us!

BRACELET SIZE
Our bracelets come in two sizes, S/M & L/XL. The S/M size is based on the average size of women’s wrists, so for most of you this will be the right size. If you are not sure what size you should chose, contact us and we’ll help you further.

CUSTOM
If you would like to have any of the jewelry in the gallery adapted (for example have the necklace longer), feel free to ask us about this. We will happily discuss the options with you.
